Weddings

I love photographing weddings . I feel honoured to be invited to document such a wonderful day.

I accept a limited number of wedding commissions a year. For each wedding I invest a significant amount of time and energy into getting to know you and creating a beautiful document of your day. It is very important for me to be fresh and creative for your day and I do not think I could do this if  I undertook to photograph weddings every weekend.

I also feel it is very important we meet before you decide to commission me. You need to feel comfortable with whoever you choose to document your day otherwise you will not receive the images you deserve. It is a significant investment after all and your images will become part of your new shared history together.

The way I work is I fit into your plans what ever they may be. I work collaboratively with you to learn about your ideas, how you want your day to unfold and what is important to you to document. My style is fresh and natural. My emphasis is on telling your story honestly and respectfully.  During the day I photograph many things including; you and your wedding party, candid photos of your guests mingling and celebrating, the location and landscape, and details of flowers, dresses, shoes, food, the cake, musicians, and tables. Even a cloud in the sky can be part of the story. I photograph freely and for the most part quietly. I only become more obvious when I photograph the group portraits and portraits of your and your wedding party.

I do not have any set packages or hourly rates as I quote according to what you want. My creative fee typically ranges from $3000 – $10,000 depending on what you want photographed. and if you include an album and prints My basic creative fee includes my time before the wedding getting to know you, developing ideas and scoping locations, my time on the day, my time after the wedding editing and preparing your images ready for print, and either a proof book or a full set of prints (approximately 350-600 images depending on the level of coverage).

I am passionate about creating images, documents and artworks that last a long time. Heirlooms. At the moment photographic prints are the most archival and ecological form of sharing, displaying and preserving your history. When handled with care these prints will last 75-100 years and you only need your eyes, hands and heart to enjoy and share them. CD’s and DVD’s require power and do not yet have the same kind of longevity. I am happy to tailor your coverage fee to include a bespoke handcrafted book,  or a traditional album, extra prints, framed prints and or digital files. These can also be purchased separately after your wedding.
