  • Welcome to Lindi Holly Photography

Hello and welcome. My name is Lindi Holly and I am a photographer based in Canberra, Australia however the whole world is my studio. My mission in business and life is simple; to create images of purpose that touch people’s hearts, to live and do business with honesty and integrity, to be happy, to be healthy, to laugh a lot, and to love with wild abandon.

I love creating images of people. To me portraits are about honesty, respect, connection, beauty and truth. Whether it be a portrait of a new life, or old one, a family, an individual, a group of friends, or a business, the essence is the same for me. It is a joy and an honour to meet new people and learn about who they are and to create images for them.

I am so grateful to my family and friends who have gently encouraged me throughout my life to be the best that I can be, and to all the beautiful people who have generously shared their lives with me and allowed me to photograph them. A big heartfelt thank you to you all.

I hope you enjoy my website and blog. I regularly add new galleries and blog posts so please visit again and contact me about how I can create some beautiful images for you. Have a wonderful day.

    Much love and laughter

Autumn leaves in Canberra – Fun Family Portrait

I had a beautiful morning with this gorgeous, energetic family. They originate from the UK and are here for a few years just to have a different experience of living somewhere else. They wanted a Canberra feel without being too iconic. We went to one of their favourite places to play, the gardens at Old Parliament House and at this time of the year the autumn leaves are spectacular. I got so many fantastic images it was hard to choose what to share here. Hope you enjoy them.

My Beautiful Family

When I was growing up I always wanted a sister. I was blessed with 3 brothers but alas I could not borrow their clothes (shallow I know). Luckily my brothers picked thier partners wisely and I now have the three most gorgeous sister-in-laws.  These images were created earlier this year when my older brother Daryn and his family passed through Canberra enroute from Tassie to Broome. It is a rare moment these days when we get together. Sadly Mum and Dad were unable to be there.

This was the first time that the Tassie crew got to meet the youngest of our clan, Ellie. My nieces Darcey and Molly were quite taken by her however my fishing obsessed nephew Jock disappeared to the lakes shore in search of carp of all fish. Yes my  dear family it has taken me a couple of months to sort through the images. The disks will be in the mail soon. In the meantime here are a few fun images.

Fun in the Sunset

The other evening I had a fast, frantic, fun time doing some photos with my good friend and awesome photographer Hilary. We have been meaning to do this for a long time. She photographed me (portraits coming soon to my website) and I photographed her and her very energetic son. It was really hard to keep up with him. Thank god for autofocus I say.

The last time I did some portraits for Hilary was over 10 years ago. She was a final year photography student and I had just finished and she asked me to do some portraits of her for her promotional material. This was back in the day of medium format cameras, studio lighting and film and I was so nervous. Consequently I stuffed up and underexposed the film. I was too embarrassed to tell her so I got the lab to do a bit of magic and luckily we were able to pull out a shot she could use. This time I have to say I was almost as nervous but I think I got some fun images. Thank you my beautiful friend I am really excited to use the images you created of me and I hope you like these. xxx

Smiles Galore

This beautiful little one was the happiest little baby I think I have ever photographed. From the moment I got there she squealed with laughter. Oh what joy!

Yet Another Beautiful Family

What a great job I have.  So many wonderful images so hard to choose (if I do say so myself). This couple were so gentle and caring towards each other and their two gorgeous children. Both are school teachers and he is also a talented artist. A tiny snippet of his work is below however there were so many beautiful pieces on their walls. Thank you to you both for inviting me to create these images for you. Enjoy xox.
