Corporate Portraits can be fun – Canberra Commerial Photographer

I had a lovely couple of mornings with Parker Financial updating their staff portraits and creating some images of their offices for their website. This is the second time I have photographed them. Last time I photographed everyone in the same location this time we decided to move around the office to photograph each staff member in their work space. The portraits became more relaxed and personal.

This gorgeous young man I am proud to say is my youngest brother. I can say he is my favourite youngest brother as he is the youngest. I do have another younger brother but he is not the youngest. I could also say he is my favourite tallest brother as he is that too. I have 3 wonderful brothers and I think they are all gorgeous and are all my favourites in their own way.

Ray is the manager of Squash ACT and is the most passionate squashy I know. I did these photos for him a little while ago for his work. I am really proud of him he was part of a very small team that organised the a very successful Australian Open Squash championships here in Canberra. It was the first time they have had this competitions in this way and it attracted most of the worlds top ranking players. Well don little bro. I loves ya xoxo

PaperMonkey always makes my images look great – Canberra Commercial Photographer

Over the years I photographed a range of jobs for this very talented graphic design firm. Check them out PaperMonkey The briefs are generally pretty open and free form and they always seem to make my images look great in their layouts. Most of the jobs have been to create a series of images that tell a story about an organisation to be used in publicity material like brochures and websites. Instead of an individual or family this is creating a portrait of an organisation or business with a range of images from documentary, architecture, product, details, landscapes and or course portraits. This is the second time I have photographed this school. They are a lovely, warm caring and enthusiastic client. I spent about a half a day trying to be a fly on the wall and document the happenings in the classroom and playground.

A celebration of the transition to womanhood – Canberra Portrait Photographer

About a month ago I photographed this beautiful coming of age party for this gorgeous young woman. When her mum contacted me she wanted to do something really special to mark this important transition in her daughter’s life. She wanted this to be a celebration of the people who helped shape her life and an acknowledgment that from now Camilla is starting her journey into womanhood where she will grow her own family and circle of friends. The party was an intimate family lunch with her closest family and friends around her. The people who were not able to make it shared their thoughts about Camilla in letters which were given to her and then read out. One of the gifts she was given was a pearl ring. This I learned has become a family tradition as her mother gave her a pearl ring on her 18th birthday and her mother before that and they think even before that. So they think it might have started with Camilla’s great great grandmother.

This was truly a special moment to be part of. I love jobs like this where there is true connection and heartfelt love. It reaffirms why I chose to do what I do. Thank you. xox

How angelic is a sleeping baby? I could watch them for hours. This little one was asleep when I arrived. Luckily he woke up with a beautiful smile on his face.

Well it has been a while since I posted last. A lot has happened in my life in the past couple of months but I am back now and will be posting on a regular basis from now on so please come back often or become a friend on my facebook page to be kept up to date with what I am doing.

Here are some images form a campaign I did earlier this year for the Australian National University School of Music for their premier concert series. We had a fun day creating these images in their concert hall.

Oh, those perfect Canberra Autumn days | Canberra Family Photographer

The thing I love about Canberra is the seasons. Each has it own unique beauty. Autumn and Winter are a great time to photograph fun family portraits. The light is softer and we often get those beautiful crystal clear days. So as long as we rug up and run around we will have no problem staying warm and we can get some fantastic action images.

This beautiful family did just that. I could not have asked for a better afternoon. The light, the colours and lots of playful energy. I created so many fun images I thought I would share them with a slide show. I hope you enjoy them xoxo

This beautiful little man just wasn’t going to be in it the first time I came to photograph this family. We got a few frames in and he told us in no uncertain terms that he did not want to be photographed. A couple of weeks later and he had changed his mind and we had a delightful time with lots of smiles, hugs and two adoring parents.
